High Fiber Carbohydrates Reduce Inflammation

Need another reason to eat more fiber?  New research shows that eating carbohydrates that are high in fiber such as whole grains, beans, nuts & seeds, fruit, and vegetables decreases inflammation.  They found that among overweight and obese study participants, a low-glycemic-load diet reduced a biomarker of inflammation called C-reactive protein by about 22 percent.  Read more: http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2012/01/14/Slow-carbs-reduce-inflammation-markers/UPI-86631326525476/#ixzz1jq23FeAS
